There's nothing our Basset Hounds love more than the opportunity to show off their outdoor skills at a Hunting Performance Test, and two sets of tests are just around the corner.

On October 28 and 29, BHCA will be sponsoring two days of tests at the Battlefield Beagle Club in Locust Grove, Virginia. And the following weekend, November 4 and 5, BHCA in conjunction with Timberline Basset Hound Club will host two days of tests at the Fox and Hare Farm in Ramah, Colorado.

What's a Hunting Performance Test? It's a non-competitive test of hunting ability designed to provide the experience for our hounds of seeking out quarry (usually rabbits) to follow in a field.

As you might imagine, the hounds love it, and the test is open to any Basset Hound registered with the American Kennel Club or having an AKC ILP number. (A few other hound breeds are also eligible to participate.)
