Murder Hollow Bassets - December Update- Trial Date Set
I have heard from Jim Scharnberg that a trial date has been set to hear the charges that remain against Wendy Willard. He states that Willard is still unable to find the whereabouts or the condition of the hounds that were seized by the PSPCA.
The case is on track for a trial on 12th January, depending on the outcome of pretrial motions. The motions that have been filed challenge 1) the Warrant that was issued, 2) the search and seizure conducted on 27th July (the date the hounds were taken) and 3) certain aspects of the authority of the PSPCA investigation.
The motions will be heard on the day of trial, before trial commences.
The case is complex and is costing about ten thousand dollars a month to prepare. The effort is being supported by the NAIA, Basset Hound Club of America, MFHA, U.S. Sportsman's Alliance, National Beagle Club, and the Pennsylvania Federation of Dog Clubs. But more financial help is needed and would be very welcome.
Jim would be delighted to hear from any individuals or other clubs and organizations that wish to contribute this very expensive litigation.
To donate you can either use the link on the NAIA Trust web site (http://www.naiatrust.org/) by clicking on the "Donate Now" link and following the instructions, or contact James F. Scharnberg, MBH, at the Sky Castle Bassets

The BHCA Board of Directors would like for you, as a BHCA member, to help monitor ramp use in the all-breed rings all over the country. This will allow us to report back to the AKC as to the success or not of their new directive from an exhibitor's point of view. Please download a copy of the BHCA Ramp Use Report and follow the directions for submitting to our delegate.
