MOTION #06-01 (amended) (11/29/00) "That a survey committee be commissioned with a panel including a Committee Chairman and no more than seven Committee members, in good standing, with a specific mandate to gather information in the form of a questionnaire from the BHCA membership for the purpose of assisting the BHCA Board as to the future direction, objectives and goals of the BHCA. That this committee provide information no later than June 1st, 2001 at which time this committee will be terminated. The Committee Chairman and seven Committee member positions will be Board appointed and approved by separate Board action. Note: The above Amended Motion was brought forth after the original Motion was made by MAKOWSKI and seconded by DEIBLER. The original Motion version had both the new survey Committee and the appointment of the Chairman included in the same motion. The Amended motion was submitted to the Board to only list the approval for the survey committee and not the Chairman as part of the motion. After the Board approval of the Amended version of the Motion which took precedence over the main motion, Makowski and Deibler withdrew their respective Second and Motion allowing the amended version to become the official Motion.

MOTION #10-01 (12/22/00) "As Chairman of the Budget Committee, I move that the Board approve the report of the Budget committee for the budget for 2000/2001 as previously sent to members with the following changes: The $400 for Nationals clothes for table and ramp be deleted from the budgeted expenditures. This should come from other funds available, such as the profits from the Nationals paid into the General funds but not available for consideration in the Operating Budget. There were numerous members that paid after August 31, but before the mailing that did not pay the additional amount. It was determined that it was more cost beneficial to the Club to send the issue to all that had paid prior to the mailing so those who did pay would be put in the same position. Mary Ann Svizeny has officially taken her seat on the BHCA Board as the Corresponding Secretary and voting Board member.

The Board received the full FTAC FT schedule for the fall of 2001. This schedule included Regional FT events. It was brought to the attention of FTAC that all Regional requests, including Field Trial regional events must be requested on an official BHCA Regional request form which includes the Regional guidelines. The following motion was made to approve the member local club FT events only. Any Regional event application must have a separate Board approval motion.

The Board addressed the letter received from the Chairman of the Breeder/Judges Education Committee, Diane Malenfant, at the Spring Board meetings this past April 28, 2001 and decided to postpone further discussion until an official qualification/criteria policy was developed. (reported in the July/August TH minutes, page 7) 

The Board has now finalized the new BHCA Policy for BHCA breeder members to be eligible to be considered as a BHCA Mentor/Presenter at shows and breed seminars. New policy is effective with Board final Motion approval.

NEW BHCA MENTOR-PRESENTER POLICY:

Upon request and coordination of the BHCA Judges Education Committee, BHCA Mentors/Presenters are willing to assist BHCA in its judges education efforts at their own expense. BHCA Mentors/Presenters will make themselves available to assist aspiring AKC judges of our breed understand more fully all facets of Basset Hound conformation, according to the AKC standard, at various AKC cluster, regional and national shows.
