Becoming a Member

Membership in the Basset Hound Club of America is open to all persons who are in good standing with the American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purpose of the BHCA.

A subscription to BHCA's newsletter Tally-Ho is include as part off the memberships listed below. 

How to apply for membership in BHCA:

Membership Type Descriptions:

Individual Membership.
Open to all persons 18 years of age and older. Individual members enjoy all the privileges of the Club, including the right to vote and hold office. Requires a completed application for membership, signed Code of Ethics. Annual dues of $38 plus applicable postage for non-US residing applicant, must accompany the application.

Family Membership.
Open to two persons 18 years of age and older who reside in the same residence. Both persons enjoy all the privileges of the Club, including the right to hold office, but will share one vote. Requires completed application for membership, signed Code of Ethics. Annual dues of $38 plus applicable postage for non-US residing applicants, must accompany the application.

Junior Membership.
Open to persons 17 years of age and under. Junior members are not entitled to vote or hold office, but are entitled to certain other privileges of the Club, as determined by the Board of Directors. Upon reaching their 18th birthday, a Junior member must convert to a Single or Family Membership, if he/she wishes to remain in the Club. Requires completed application for membership, signed Code of Ethics. Annual dues of $15 plus applicable postage for non-US residing applicant, must accompany the application. Birthday must be on the application where indicated.

If you reside outside the US, please contact the Corresponding Secretary for the correct postage for your residence.

Read, print, and sign the application form

Have your sponsors sign the application form.

Make checks and money orders payable to BHCA for dues and additional postage, all checks must be payable in US funds.
